Monday Endurance Pace Run

We meet at Dog Park in Baldwin Park each Monday at 6:15 pm.  There is a restroom and water fountain available at the start and end of this run.  Monday is an ‘Active Recovery’ day for Ion Fit Club athletes which means swimming is paramount to complete by the athlete before we kick off the week with our group run.  The run is at endurance pace between 8:30-10:00 min/miles and the volume is between 45-60 mins.  The above map shows you the route we run on a Monday however as the season progresses this is subject to change*. This run is all about loosening the legs and enjoying the social aspect of the sport.  Coach James will run along side you and give you some pointers to become a more efficient runner and also much of the conversation is about upcoming events, equipment and products on the market.  The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the route.

We meet at Blue Jacket Park in Baldwin Park each Wednesday at 6:00 am.  Wednesday is a key day in the training week for Ion Fit Club athletes where we complete a ‘tempo’ group run.  The run starts off at endurance pace between 8:30-10:00 min/miles for 20 minutes before the group has the option to run for 20 minutes at ‘tempo’ or 80% plus of maximum heart rate for the individual. The above map shows you the route we run on a Wednesday however as the season progresses this is subject to change*. This run is all about warming up and elevating the heart rate for approximately 20 minutes and increasing running pace and cadence. Coach James will run along side you and give you some pointers to become a more efficient runner and also much of the conversation is about upcoming events, equipment and products on the market.  The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the route.

*The above route have been chosen specifically by Coach James to be as safe as possible for the group.  The routes cross public highways and byways on occasions and caution must always be exercised by each athlete. The avoidance of brick streets, roads without sidewalks, excessive crossing of major roadways and poorly lit areas is a top priority for Coach  James, IFC Orlando Coach.
